“OFFICES ARE DANGEROUS AND CAUSE CONSTIPATION!”

I recently participated in a discussion at Michel Fortin’s Copywriters Board about the Pro’s and Con’s of consultants and copywriters working from a home office vs. leasing office space away from home.

Alan Forrest Smith posted a comment that I just had to share with you”…

If you don’t know who Alan is, he’s hands down the greatest copywriter in the UK (and I would count him in the top 5 active copywriter’s world wide.)

Alan has a writing style that is wonderfully unique and refreshing.

He is so off-the-wall and funny that”… Well, I’ll just let you read for yourself”…

Here is what Alan wrote about working from home vs. working in an office:

OFFICES ARE DANGEROUS AND CAUSE CONSTIPATION!

My day.

Wake up on the farm. One kid plays Rage Against The Machine at 8 trillion decibles. Another continually shouts “dad where is my … ” Another makes a racket running up and down my wooded stairs. And my daughter … she’s just NUTS!

Then I look out the window. Sheep are running all over the place. One has his head stuck in the wire fence Another has died. One is looking more and more like Sunday dinner.

Then I walk in the garden. Shall I continue looking at my newly customised v-bug and wash her curves in soap? Shall I walk over to the orchard and pick some Apples? Shall I sit around and top up my tan so I look more like that muscle hunk Tim Warnock?

Or …

Shall I go and walk around the lake where there is a large road near by. In fact you have to walk over an old 1960′s bridge to get to the lake. The road below is packed between the hours of 7am-9am.

If you look closely enough you’ll see faces filled with constipated pain of GOING TO THE OFFICE. They hate it. They are hassled. They are helpless. They are OFFICE WORKERS.

Do they look happy? Would you rather lather up the bug or spend 4 hours stressing in a car?

Offices are dangerous places where heart attacks and strokes are created on a daily basis.

Farms are fun. Family’s are amazing. V-bugs are … droool.

I wouldnt swap it for anything. Power to freedom from offices. I am going to start a campaign called…

All Offices Should Be Morgues!
