One of my coaching clients read my last post, Do Coupon Codes INCREASE Checkout Abandonment?, asked me a question about how to turn off the coupon code field when using 1ShoppingCart (the shopping cart system I currently use.)
So I recorded him a quick video showing how to do it, and I figured it may be of help to you as well!
So enjoy:

A very timely blog post. I had just finished creating and announcing a free trial using “coupon codes.”
I came to read your blog to reward myself for being done. This was the post I read.
Two hours later, everything is renamed to a “claim code.” You can see the new page here:

Thanks for the great tips!
Your blog is currently my favorite blog among all of the gazillion blogs in the blogoverse.
Thanks for everything you do!
Kristi,
Glad to be of help! Fantastic job on the page. “Claim Code” should work great for you.
Also, I love what you’re doing with Copy Oracle. I’ve been using Glyphius for ages now, and still fire it up when trying to beat one of my controls!
Keep up the good work.
Eric
Me too! I still have Glyphius installed on my laptop so I can use it in an emergency when I don’t have access to the Internet and can use Copy Oracle.
I always double-check later though. The latest version of Glyphius had a 85.5% rate of predicting the eventual test results. Some older versions of Glyphius were as low as 72%.
The latest version of Copy Oracle is right 92.16% of the time. Every little bit matters.
Keep up the great work yourself!

Hi Eric, The coupon abandonment relationship makes sense to me unless of course I really want the particular item from that particular vendor. I am interested in knowing your thoughts on using AWeber along with 1Shoppingcart (and just dropping the autoresponder piece of 1SC). AWeber does allow you to split test on a particular list (autoresponder) whereas 1SC really uses split testing to refer to their AdTracker component. As far as I can tell, you have to create a duplicate autoresponder in 1SC – move half of your list to that AR and remove them from the original autoresponder to achieve split testing on email effectiveness.
Your thoughts?
Much appreciated,
Fred
