Whatdayaknow… I just won a free cruise!
Well… If you read my “Give and You Shall Receive” post from yesterday, you found out that James Brausch was offering to pay the way for one of his blog readers to join him on a 3 day cruise to Mexico.
The only action required was to simply post to your blog and tell him why you should be the one he picks.
(Guess I should have titled the post “Blog and You Shall Receive!”)
Amazingly enough for the first few hours, I was the ONLY person (out of his 2,500+ readers each day) to even bother to post about the “contest”.
It actually took James posting a second time to get a few more entries. (And a couple of those were kinda’ scary if you ask me…)
So imagine my surprise when I got off the plane here in Minneapolis (I’m out of town conducting a workshop for a new client) and checked my voice mail to hear a message from James telling me I had won and asking for my PayPal email address to send over the money! (Well… Okay, after reading the other “replies” I pretty much expected it. But it was still cool!)
And to top it off… I was expecting him to send the $279 that the cruise ticket cost. But no! The class act that James is, he not only covered the cost of the cruise ticket, he sent a full $1,000 to cover the ticket, airfare from Kansas City to LAX and then some!
Actually, the cruise ticket with airfare comes to about $890… So by sending me $1,000, it leaves me just enough to pay tithing on the ‘grand’ and still go on the trip for free. Amazing how that works out. 
It just goes to show… If you TAKE ACTION, great things happen.

P.S. - To James, Kristi and all the others who will be joining us on the “boat”… My wife (Christina) and I are looking forward to meeting you. See you in Ensenada!

Try flying into Long Beach. I think it’s a slightly cheaper flight and I think it’s closer to the port.

Apparently James’s oferr to sponsor someone on the cruise was just a popularity stunt for his blog. It was a scam to get more trackbacks, just like when he shut off comments.
He had no intention of actually awarding a free trip to anyone. And I don’t believe for a minute that he sent you a dime. And I know for a fact neither of you are even going on a cruise.
You knew from the beginning that he was going to pick you and so did he. By picking you he was able to make it look like he actually awarded a prise without actually sending any money to anyone.
All of the gurus like you and Brauch seem to have some kind of good old boys club and no matter what you say on your blogs, you have no intention of ever letting us common folk into it.
Just admit it, there was no contest and there is no cruise.
