An Urgent Message About my Friend Jim Edwards’s Family (Please Help Right Now!)
Just a couple months ago while in Las Vegas together, Jim Edwards and I talked extensively about his son-in-law Jon’s approaching deployment to Iraq. And I was amazed at the incredible things that Jim had done for Jon and his unit to support them in their mission.
The things Jim did are private and I’m not going to share them on this blog, but rest assured it reinforced the high esteem and respect I have for my friend.
Well, I’m sad to say that this past Friday Jim’s son-in-law Jon was severely injured when the vehicle he was driving in Iraq was struck by a road- side bomb. He and 3 of his team members were badly hurt, the fifth member of the team was killed.
Tomorrow Jim and his family are headed up to Walter Reed Hospital to meet Jon after his medical transport plane arrives from Germany.
I would like you to do 4 things right now…
First, please got to Jim’s blog IMMEDIATELY and post your comments, prayers and positive wishes for his son-in-law Jon.
Jim will be printing out these comments and giving them to Jon when he visits him tomorrow. So you need to do this right now!
(Please do NOT make any political comments. Just express your gratitude for his service and sacrifice and keep the comments positive.)

Second, as a military veteran myself I can tell you that the service that our young men and women in uniform provide to their country is difficulty, lonely and often thankless.
And organization that provides a great deal of support and comfort to our brave service members is the USO. But they need donations in order to do their valuable work.
I’ve just got done donating to the USO in honor of Jon and his sacrifice and I strongly urge you to do the same.
Please visit the link below and give whatever you can.
Third, if YOU have a blog or mailing list, please try and send a quick message to them asking them to do the two things above as well.
The more good wishes we can send to Jon the better. It’s so important for him to know that his pain and sacrifice (and his family’s pain and sacrifice) has not been in vain and he is loved, valued and supported by many more people than he ever imagined.
And fourth (and in my opinion the most important), please say a prayer for Jon and his family during this difficult time. Pray for a speedy and FULL recovery.
Please actually do this right now. Don’t just say to yourself “I’ll try and remember to do that tonight”, actually STOP and say the prayer right now as you are reading this.
Jim, please know that Jon, you and your family are all in my family’s prayers…

Pray for a Fallen Hero…
This just came up today. It has nothing to do with marketing or making money online. Please take a minute to read these two posts and pray for a fallen hero.

Eric,
That’s tough stuff … really respect the people who give their time, energy, commitment and even lives — for us!
The war in Iraq has probably inspired more songwriters to pen their tunes than anything else in a long time. Well, it had the same impact on Tonya (my wife) and I — and we wrote this song as a tribute to all the military personnel and their families. Please pass this along to others. Hopefully it can be a bit of inspiration … in some small way.

I’ll post it over at Jim’s site too…
