In yesterday’s post I shared with you some of the outstanding results my clients and I have been seeing by using the Hacker Safe Logo.
The logo is a huge trust builder, gives you a PR 7 backlink and actually helps make your server more secure.
However, even though the logo does give a nice conversion boost in most cases, one thing that has always bugged me is the fact that the logo opens in a new window, with address bars, links bars, tool bars and all the other distractions.
I have ample test data that shows that by removing the address bar and other bars from a new window you open, you can reduce the potential for visitor distraction and improve conversion rates.
Further, during the usability testing I regularly do for my clients, I’ve watched time and time again visitors click on something that opens in a new window with full address, [...]

And as a couple smart and observant readers noticed in my last post, www.HackerSafeLogo.com is of course my personal affiliate URL.
I’ll be the first one to admit I’m a hard core capitalist. I believe in making money and teaching others to make MORE money. I earn a very good living online and one of my MANY income streams comes from affiliate marketing. So I make no apologies for monetizing my blog every way I can.

As you can see the last post to my blog is dated almost a month ago. I’ve actually had blog readers e-mail me asking if I was okay or if I was suffering from some kind of health issues.
Well to set the record straight, my health is good, I’m doing fine, I’ve just been INSANELY busy over the past month or two.
You see… as generous as I try to be with my test results and conversion knowledge, unlike many “experts” I actually spend 80% of my time DOING and only 20% of my time TEACHING.
As a result I’ve been so busy writing copy and conducting tests for my own and my clients websites I simply haven’t had the time to slow down and share the results. [...]
